I wasn’t sure what to make of WordPress in the beginning. I was just getting a pretty good grip on HTML and CSS and now there’s PHP. I still don’t have a great understanding of it but I’m sure I’m not alone in that. WordPress itself turned out to be not as complicated as it first looked. It makes sense once you learn more about it.
The most helpful thing to know about it, I think, is that when you have a page and it’s doing crazy things that it shouldn’t, you probably have a conflict between your CSS and the CSS from the parent template. I was able to solve several problems fairly easily once I understood that.
The key is repetition. As with many things, the more you times you do it, the easier it becomes.
